Severe bleeding is one of the most common causes of death in traumatic injuries – be it in a civilian emergency or on the battlefield. Before medical care can be provided in a hospital, minutes can therefore make the difference between life and death. Approximately 40% of all trauma-related deaths can be attributed to uncontrolled bleeding in a preclinical setting.
TRAUMA HEMOSTATIC DRESSING was developed to save lives in precisely these critical moments. This highly effective haemostatic enables fast, safe and reliable control of bleeding – even in situations where traditional methods such as pressure bandages or tourniquets reach their limits.
Innovative technology for a maximum effect
TRAUMA HEMOSTATIC DRESSING is based on patented technology using halloysite nano tubes (HNT) – a natural clay mineral with a unique structure. The effect is purely physical: the absorption of water from the blood increases the concentration of thrombocytes at the wound site. These promote natural blood clotting and quickly form a stable white thrombus – without any animal or human proteins, without chemical additives and without heat generation.

Immediate effect upon contact with blood
The hydrophilic, perforated matrix structure of the carrier fibres draws water out of the blood. At the same time, internal channels and pores keep the platelets in place. The electrostatic interaction between the negatively charged surface of the halloysite and the positively charged blood platelets leads to rapid adhesion and aggregation – and thus to the rapid formation of a white thrombus that effectively stops the bleeding.
